Dr. Clown

The society “Dr. Klauns” is a public charity, which sets the development of medical clownery in Latvia as it’s the main goal. The society’s activities are basically aimed at improving the physical and emotional condition of children, and providing assistance in handling stress during painful medical procedures.

In 2014, when the education of the public about the activities of the society began, the recognizability of Dr. Clowns was close to nil. Volunteers were involved in the project, who visited children in hospitals and demonstrated, what it is that Doctor Clowns do. The campaign “Laughter Cures!” has been covered in 220 publications in the press. 600 schools were involved in the project in Latvia.
